Whether these feelings have come on suddenly or been a recurrent force for years, depression and anxiety can feel overwhelming and isolating. We may get advice to “focus on the positives” or “worry less,” but changing mood is not always that simple.  Those with depression may feel sad and tearful, numb and detached, or agitated and irritable. They may struggle to sleep or sleep much of the day, lose their appetite or eat in excess. Anxiety may bring racing thoughts, feelings of panic, and a host of physical symptoms that come when the body is stuck on high alert.  These feelings become the rule rather than the exception, making daily tasks difficult and connection hard to maintain.

At Nurtured Self Counseling, we understand the immense impact of living with depression and anxiety.  We use evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to target the areas of life you want to change and build the life you want to live.
